Research Overview

For cryptographic algorithms like pairing cryptography, which has high scalability for advanced encryption, and lattice cryptography, which is resistant to attacks by quantum computers, it is essential to initiate practical application efforts now, even though they are not mainstream yet but expected to be utilized in the future. Waiting until they become necessary would be too late. In this study, we assume the implementation of pairing and lattice cryptography using dedicated hardware. We propose a method to simply estimate the security of the cryptography and costs like computation time and gate size using dedicated computational hardware, based on the results of logic synthesis. This method is applied and evaluated for optimal ate pairing and CRYSTALS-Kyber.
